Panel Fabrication
Control panels built and wired in our Elgin shop
WESA builds UL-listed control panels in-house, from a single PLC enclosure to a plant-wide motor control package. Engineering, machining and wiring happen in one building in Elgin, Illinois, and the engineers who draw a panel stay with it through the build.
What we offer
Five panel services, all run out of the same shop. Most projects use more than one of them.
Control panel fabrication
PLC, drive, motor control and operator panels designed, assembled and wired from your drawings and your process.
Custom panels
One-off and short-run panels engineered around one machine or process line. Layout fits the footprint you have, using the components you specify.
Standards-based fabrication
Panels built to UL 508A, UL 698A, NNNY, CSA or NFPA 79, whichever the job calls for. WESA applies the UL label itself.
Retrofit panels
Aging controls rebuilt with current components and a fresh set of drawings. The new panel is sized to drop into the equipment you already have.
Manufacturing capabilities
Device cutouts and drilling machined on a Steinhauer ModCenter, automated wire cutting and stripping, plus legend plate and tag engraving in-house.
Why build with WESA
Engineering, fabrication, enclosure machining and engraving all happen in the same building. That keeps one company accountable for the panel from drawing to delivery.
- One team, one building
- Design, machining and wiring all happen on the same floor. A layout change goes straight to the people building the panel, without a vendor handoff in between.
- Standards built in
- Panels are built to UL 508A, UL 698A, NNNY, CSA or NFPA 79 as the job requires, and WESA applies the UL label itself. Panels ship labeled and ready for inspection.
- Drawings you can maintain
- Every panel ships with wiring diagrams and a bill of materials. Maintenance staff can trace a circuit and order replacement parts from the documents in hand.
- Schedule you can plan around
- Machining, wire processing and engraving stay in-house instead of going out to separate shops. Nothing in the panel schedule waits on an outside queue.
- Components you specify
- Component choices follow what your maintenance team already stocks, down to the PLC, drive and device brands. Spare parts on your shelf still fit the new panel.
- Backed in the field
- The crew that builds the panel can install, commission and support it through WESA field services. Startup and service calls stay with one company.
